About Our Club
Founded in 1926 with just 19 charter members, Vero Beach Rotary has proudly served the community for nearly 100 years. From our first gala at the Royal Park Inn to the Vero Beach Yacht Club where we meet today, our history reflects resilience, generosity, and lasting fellowship.
Through the Great Depression, changing times, and even a year of virtual meetings during COVID, our commitment to service has never wavered. We have helped launch local organizations, supported youth programs, and continued raising vital funds for those in need.
With decades-long member dedication and a legacy of leadership and impact, our Club remains focused on making a meaningful difference in the community we are proud to serve.

The Four-Way Test
1.
Is it the truth?
2.
Is it fair to all concerned?
3.
Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
4.
Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

In 2026, the Rotary Club of Vero Beach proudly celebrated John J. Schumann Jr.'s remarkable 70 years of Rotary service. A former publisher of the Vero Beach Press-Journal, John joined the Club in 1956, continuing a family legacy that began with his father, a founding member in 1926. John helped establish the Vero Beach Rotary Charities Foundation in 1992 and, through the generosity of the Schumann family, has supported countless Rotary initiatives. His lifelong commitment to Service Above Self continues to inspire generations of Rotarians.

The Rotary Corner
A lasting legacy in the heart of our community.
Inspired by the original Rotary Fountain built by the Rotary Club of Vero Beach in 1931, the Rotary Corner honors nearly a century of service, community spirit, and local history. In 2025, the six Rotary Clubs of Indian River County came together to transform the former Centennial Fountain site into a beautifully landscaped community landmark featuring native plants, trees, lighting, and engraved pavers.
Today, Rotary Corner serves as a welcoming focal point that celebrates Rotary's enduring commitment to service above self while providing community members with an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.
